Five Cross Roads Medical Centre has been privileged to serve the Hamilton community for over 35 years as one of the oldest clinics in Hamilton . Our journey began in a modest home with two dedicated doctors and soon moved to the heart of Five Crossroads to meet the growing needs of our whānau.

In 1998, we established our purpose-built clinic in Hamilton on Peachgrove Road, founded by Dr. Mike Watson, Dr. Rob Murphy, and Dr. Kirshni Appanna. For 17 years, this rōpū provided trusted, compassionate care grounded in the principles of manaakitanga (hospitality, kindness) and whanaungatanga (relationships, connection).

Over time, we continued the legacy of one of the oldest clinics in Hamilton to uphold these values and deepen our commitment to holistic, patient-centred care.

In April 2022, as we expanded to two locations, we rebranded as Rata Health. The name draws inspiration from the native rātā tree—known for its resilience, beauty, and healing properties. It reflects our roots in the community, our dedication to hauora (wellbeing), and our aspiration to grow strong and connected—like the intertwining branches of the rātā.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Kirikiriroa and beyond, grounded in care that honours both the past and future of Aotearoa.
